We had a fantastic stay at The Horngarth. The room had everything we needed and more and to top it off the views of Whitby and the abbey were stunning. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks to Emma and Anthony for such a lovely stay.

Perfect accommodation ! I had the pleasure in staying at The Horngarth for a friends birthday celebration. The very first thing you notice on entering the room was how spotless everything is set up. Lots of little details which just add to the experience of Quality. The little things provided do not go unnoticed. The location was perfect too.

Stayed at the Horngarth as a last minute weekend away for the bank holiday and had a great time. Emma and Anthony are gracious hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Helpful local advice and a room with everything you need. 5 star place to stay.

Wow! Attention to detail was amazing - fresh milk, orange juice and snacks. The apartment has a lovely view of the Abbey. Emma and Antony ensured we had everything we needed and provided us with a list of suitable places to eat as first time visitors. A true little gem that we highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Whitby.

Beautifully presented room, so much attention to detail. The host Emma was so helpful and friendly gave us so much info about Whitby and places to go and to eat. Really enjoyed our stay . Accommodation in a prime spot close to all the shops and restaurants .

stunning little apartment with lovely hosts! perfect location right in the centre. in the apartment there is a fridge with fresh milk and orange juice, with granola for breakfast! lots of lovely little additions of snacks and drinks, umberellas in the lobby to use. very clean will 100% be returning :) thanks emma!

If you are looking for just lodgings these are first class. See if you can get room 4 and enjoy the fantastic views over the harbour and towards the abbey. The owners are so helpful. Rooms have a mini fridge and they left milk for us. They provide coffee and range of teas. Cannot fault it, highly recommended.

All I can say is wow, stayed here this weekend 17/9 and stayed in room 4, what a beautiful hotel, the attention to detail is fabulous, a tote bag with snacks a fridge with drinks and fresh orange , lovely hosts and amazing veiw , would definitely recommend and I will definitely be back 5 ⭐️

You won't be disappointed if you stay here ,we were in room 4, good space ,comfortable bed , fab views towards Abbey. It's a credit to the owners who look after this accommodation which is also well located . They are friendly and communicate very well ,quality cereal and biscuits 😋 Also deliver milk pints as requested along with orange juice Thank You Emma & Anthony

Me and my partner have just spent 2 wonderful days here in Whitby , I can see why this place has only good reviews, the location , cleanliness and high standard of furnishings of the rooms , Excellent hosts in Antony and Emma nothing was too much trouble . When we next come back to Whitby this will definitely be my first place to contact about availability, Can’t recommend this place enough 5* all round 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

Emma goes above and beyond what is expected from a hotel stay. We had all the information we could possibly need from her well before our stay. When we arrived, we had tote bags with goodies in them with cookies and crisps! The room had everything we could need with orange juice and fresh milk in the fridge, and coffees and teas - not to mention the granola and apples which was perfect for a quick breakfast before we headed out. Emma was communicative and responsive and we almost felt spoilt! Would definitely recommend - 100% and will be staying there again if we are in the area!

This is a modern lodgings (self check in/ key code access) in the heart of Whitby. Emma and Antony (the hosts) although not based on site, were super thoughtful and only ever a text away. There were really cute touches like a cake left for us one day, crisps another. Car parking permits were arranged for us before arrival. The room was bright and airy with amazing views over the town and the abbey. It had tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, we were able to request different types of pillows and there were soft robes and slippers. Daily cleaning of rooms and replenishing of goodies and fresh milk and OJ are all included. There were also some really well thought of extras like discreetly packaged sanitary items in one of the drawers for women. We would highly recommend. Only suggestion- Emma save yourself some work and pop a recycle bin in the room!

Our stay has been amazing. Our room was beautiful, very clean and the attention to detail was superb. Emma was a great host and even left us a bottle of Prosecco and some snacks. I would definitely recommend the Horngarth to anyone looking to stay in Whitby, you won’t be disappointed.

Emma & Anthony where amazing. Very accommodating and ensuring that our needs where met ahead of our stay. The beds where comfy and the room was well stocked with everything that we would need. Very modern and clean. Great location. Will stay there again if we are in Whitby . You will not be disappointed if you stay here

Had a wonderful experiences on all our three visits. We took my brother and his wife from Australia for two nights in June and they were delighted too. The lodgings are immaculate and the owners are so nice and helpful. The location is central to all the best in Whitby. The car parking scheme works so well and easily. We would recommend this place to everyone who appreciates fine lodgings.

Emma and Antony were fantastic hosts! They went above and beyond to make our trip special, even leaving jubilee cookies and gins in our room to celebrate the queens jubilee! Emma contacted us in the mornings to see if we needed milk or juice or any refreshments replaced and left cookies on our doorstep. The room was lovely and spacious and clean and was in a perfect location. We will definitely be back, cannot recommend The Horngarth enough! Thank you Emma & Antony for making our trip so special.

Exceptional quality room! Absolutely loved our stay here, the room had lots of extras such as two robes with slippers, hairdryer AND straighteners, fresh apples, fridge with chocolates and pop, even popcorn 🍿. The location was perfect for us to explore nearby shops and the beach was around the corner. There are so many closeby food places too and we went to the Star inn the Harbour which was lovely! We cannot thank Emma enough, she was very informative, helpful and nothing was too much when i txt her. I asked her if there were any prosecco glasses in the room, to which she said she will pop them in the fridge for us so they were nice and chilled... i thought that was lovely. She recommended food places and parking ect too, and we managed to get a parking space on the next street to which we were also provided with a parking permit for our stay which is just another bonus! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit to Whitby and cant wait to come back! Definitely will stay here again Thankyou!

The Horngarth is an absolute gem! Lovely large ensuite room, spotlessly clean with a very comfortable king sized bed. It is ideally situated in the centre of Whitby with easy access to restaurants and attractions. The owner, Emma, is very helpful, recommending places to eat and organising on street parking permits.

Absolutely amazing accommodation, the owners go above and beyond with the extra touches !! Comfortable, clean and great location. Highly recommended, this is our second visit in a month and will definitely be back.

What a stay! It was our first stay in Whitby. We chose Horngarth as it had such good reviews and after spending there one night only I can see why! Even though you check yourself in and don't really interact with any staff, you feel so welcomed by Emma and Antony, who contacts you via texts and makes sure everything is as comfortable for your stay as possible. Little touches in the room, decor and everything exceeded our expectations. We had room 5 which was lovely, spacious and close to everything Whitby has to offer. Def recommend and 100% will stay again. Thank you Emma and Antony 🙃

From the information provided before arriving, to the room it’s self, to the location, this place gets an easy 10/10 from us. The Room was extremely clean and had everything you need for your stay, from bath robes, soaps, flannels, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits, a fridge with milk & orange juice, crisps, everything you can think of for a perfect stay, these guys have thought of it. I’m very picky when it comes to an overall service, and these guys Exceeded everything I look for. Well done, ans thank you so much. We will definitely be returning in the near future xx

We stayed at the Horngarth in room 3 on the August bank holiday and we couldn’t have been happier. The room was beautiful, immaculate and a really good size. Emma and Antony are fantastic….the information they provided ahead of our stay was so helpful and they were so welcoming and kind. The location of the Horngarth was spot on too, what a fantastic find. We will definitely be back.

An absolutely fabulous room to enjoy the lovely Whitby. The overall experience was first class. The room was beautifully decorated, with space and everything you would need. The view from the room was outstanding too. It was also made all the more special by the effort the owner, Emma, went to. How and where to park, a text to say the room is ready, a text back to check all was OK. It really makes the difference - thank you.

Emma and Antony made us very welcome. Everything was to the highest standard and worked well! Lovely treats. Definitely felt mothered! Great view of Whitby Abbey from the skylight of Room 3. Such a handy location for bars, cafes, shops etc, but not too busy unlike the seafront. Thoroughly recommend.

Expectations exceed! We stayed in room 4 which has a view of the abbey. The room had a comfy bed, an amazing shower and a great location. When we return to Whitby we will 100% stay here. Thank you so much.
